The Asian Virtual Human Association (AVHA), a nonprofit organization registered in Tokyo, Japan, dedicated to promoting virtual productions and virtual humans, is thrilled to announce a collaborative effort with the Creative Media Industries Institute (CMII) at Georgia State University. Together, they aim to jointly promote virtual productions in North America, focusing particularly on the Greater Atlanta area.
In May 2023, AVHA successfully organized a 48-Hour Virtual Production Filming Contest, attracting 56 teams from Japan, China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, Germany, the UK, and the US. Many of these teams showcased their creative productions by utilizing local Virtual Production Studios. Notably, participants who excelled in the competition secured full-time positions at the aforementioned studios.
With the valuable support of CMII, AVHA aims to elevate the level of participation from North America in the 2024 contest. Currently, 67 teams from 47 mainland Chinese schools have already enrolled for the 2024 contest, showcasing the growing international interest.
AVHA, in collaboration with CMII, will share its knowledge through 4-hour seminars and 12-hour hands-on workshops. The goal is to inspire and prepare US teams for the 2024 48-Hour Virtual Production Filming Contest, fostering similar momentum and enthusiasm that has proven successful in other regions.
