The Creative Media Industries Institute (CMII) at Georgia State University is proud to announce that Jazmyn Green and William Amsbaugh have been awarded the Kay Beck Producers Scholarship for the 2024–2025 academic year.
Established to support undergraduate students in mastering the full production pipeline and owning the content they create, the Kay Beck Producers Scholarship recognizes juniors and seniors at CMII who exemplify leadership, creativity, and a commitment to producing complete projects. This scholarship also promotes diversity of viewpoint and experience in the film and television industries—an ideal embodied by both William and Jazmyn.
Jazmyn Green found her creative footing at CMII after transferring into the Media Entrepreneurship pathway, a move that allowed her to blend her business acumen with her artistic interests. A "jack-of-all-trades" by nature, Jazmyn has built a versatile portfolio spanning social media marketing, digital writing, and creative enterprise management. Outside the classroom, she has worked as a bartender across Atlanta, inspiring her to develop content around the art of mixology. Recently, she gained hands-on experience in entertainment finance through an internship with Polay + Swann. With plans to launch a mobile bartending business and expand her presence in the entertainment industry, Jazmyn is passionate about becoming a dynamic business owner at the intersection of creativity and commerce.
William Amsbaugh recently graduated with a double major in Film & Media and Media Entrepreneurship. After leaving a full-time job over eight years ago to pursue filmmaking, William built a vibrant career directing music videos and commercial work while remaining deeply connected to narrative storytelling. His student films have earned accolades at the Led Zeppelin International Film Festival and features at the Atlanta Horror Film Festival. Recognizing a need for platforms that support emerging creators, William founded Film Distribution & Premieres (FD&P), a student organization that pays filmmakers to screen their work, emphasizing that creative labor deserves fair compensation. Looking ahead, William aspires to become a producer specializing in horror films, cultivating original storytelling and sustainable careers for fellow artists.
"William and Jazmyn represent the spirit of the Kay Beck Producers Scholarship in every way," said CMII Director Brennan Dicker. "They are both focused on creating, managing, and owning their work, and their diverse experiences bring fresh perspectives to the industry. We are excited to see where their careers will lead."
The Creative Media Industries Institute congratulates William and Jazmyn on this well-deserved recognition and looks forward to their continued success as innovators and entrepreneurs in the creative economy.
