CMII Operations for Spring Semester 2021
Due to the unprecedented challenges we continue to face for the GSU Spring Semester we have made several changes to our usual access policies. These may be updated as conditions evolve throughout the semester. The CMII will make new information available to CMII students via email, monthly newsletters and with the assistance of your instructors.

CMII Administrative Offices & Contact Information
During the spring semester the CMII administrative offices in the 25 Park Place Tower will be accessible by appointment only. If you require assistance, please contact the resources below as appropriate.

CMII Building Access & Use Policies
Building Hours
- The CMII building will be open from 8:30am through 5:15pm, M-F for student access starting January 11, 2021.
- There will be no after-hours access to the facility except for scheduled classes.
Visitors
In line with the GSU policy for the spring semester, no visitors (external to GSU) are allowed in the CMII facility without authorization from the CMII Executive Director.
Accessible Areas
There will be limited common areas available for student in the CMII limited to the 1st floor lobby. Aside from the lobby areas, students may access the rooms in which their classes are held, the computer labs listed below during the hours listed and the restrooms, elevators, and stairwells in the facility.
All other areas of the facility will remain closed unless access is approved and requested by an instructor.
Food and Drinks
Food and drinks may not be consumed in the CMII facility for the spring semester.
CMII Computing Labs
The following computer lab locations are available to CMII students who need to utilize CMII computers and software during the hours listed. One student will be allowed to use each computer only. No additional students or visitors may use or occupy these spaces for the spring semester.
Room 312 Student Media Lab Hours M and W 8:30am-3pm, F 8:30am-5:15pm
Room 201 Entrepreneurship Suite Hours M-F 8:30am-5:15pm
Room 215 Esports Lab Hours M-F 8:30am-5:15pm
Masks, Social Distancing and Hygiene
- Everyone is required to wear masks on campus including the CMII building. If you would like to apply for an accommodation please go to: https://access.gsu.edu/ If you do not have proof that an accommodation has been granted, you must wear a mask in the CMII facility.
- Everyone is asked to maintain at least 6’ of distance from others in the facility where possible.
- Everyone should wash their hands frequently when in the CMII facility.
CMII Checkout Equipment Availability
The checkout function at CMII will open Monday January 18th, 2021 for the spring semester. Any equipment check outs prior to this date will be permitted with instructor approval and by appointment only. Hours of operation for the checkout window will be posted and communicated to your instructors by that date.
CMII Checkout Process
Equipment may be checked out with approval from your CMII instructor for use on a class related project. Your instructor should send an email to CMIICheckout@gsu.edu with the student’s contact information, faculty approval and a list of the requested items. We will then schedule a time for you to pick up the items by email or phone using the student’s contact information provided.
The CMII has limited computing resources available for checkout during the spring semester which will be available on a case-by-case based on individual need with an instructor’s approval. Students should plan to make use of the CMII Computing Labs available in Room 312, Room 201 and Room 215 during the available times below.
CMII Checkout Computing System Quantities and Specifications
12 HP Zbook Laptops – Capable of running all software located in the CMII computing labs.
10 Dell Latitude 3310 2-in-1 Systems (Laptop/Tablet) – Used for basic computing, web connectivity, email and office tools.
10 iPad Pros (4th Gen) – Includes base IOS software, Logitech folio/keyboard, charger and Apple pencil.
3 Microsoft Surface Pros – Used for basic computing, web connectivity, email and office tools.
Additional Campus Technology Checkout Resources
The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) as well as Instructional Innovation and Technology (IIT) also has a limited supply of connectivity and computing equipment available for checkout in the spring semester. These include laptops, tablets and iPads that provide basic computing, connectivity, and office productivity processing capabilities. They also have a limited quantity of internet hot spots for those requiring internet connectivity options.

CMII Computing Labs
To promote social distancing CMII computers have been dispersed into multiple locations. Labs can be used only for class related computing. Students not actively using a computer may not remain in the labs inclusive of the Entrepreneurship Suite Room 201.
