UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS
Georgia's creative sector had a $19 billion economic impact in 2019.
B.A. in Game Design
The B.A. in Game Design trains interested students to integrate game arts with related advanced technology software platforms in which videogames are conceptualized, designed and created.
The team at the Creative Media Industries Institute (CMII) is composed of scholars and professors of practice who work with students on theory and practical industry knowledge. Our students have access to a unique group of professionals with diverse backgrounds and strengths to give them a more well-rounded education and view of the creative industry.
B.S. in Game Development
The B.S. in Game Development trains students for coding, programming and software-intensive game development careers. The program is for students aspiring to gain the background and technical skill necessary for a career in game development or science, technology, engineering and mathematics-related areas in computational media and connects students to the region’s game design companies and to the industrial ecosystem for games development in the region.
The major, while mainly preparing students for careers in the video game companies and start-up enterprises, can also prepare students for careers in game production, animation, motion graphics, post-production and wider software development industries, including social media analytics, Web and application development.
B.I.S. in Media Entrepreneurship
The Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (BIS) concentration in Media Entrepreneurship prepares students to enter a changing media environment with an understanding of business dynamics and opportunities. Given Atlanta’s booming media production scene and the tremendous role played in the city by visionary media entrepreneurs such as Tyler Perry and Ted Turner, a program of study focused on preparing you to convert your artistic passions into a media or arts start-up may be the perfect way to start your career.
Working with a program adviser, a student picks courses from a long set of options, combining classes in a core craft (for example, film production, music industries or graphic design) with classes offered by CMII in media and arts entrepreneurship.
